В 1957 Элем Климов закончил Московский авиационный институт и работал на одном из московских заводов инженером-конструктором. В 1964 году он окончил режиссёрский факультет ВГИКа и начал работать на киностудии "Мосфильм". Первым полнометражным фильмом Климова была комедия "Добро пожаловать, или Посторонним вход воспрещён". In 1957 Elem Klimov has graduated from the Moscow aviation institute and worked at one of the Moscow plants as a design engineer. In 1964 he graduated from director's faculty of the VGIK and began to work at the Mosfilmfilm studio. The comedy "Welcome, or the Entrance Is Prohibited for Strangers" was the first feature film of Klimov. The movie became very popular at once. Other known director's works of Klimov are: "Sport, sport, sport", "Agony", "Farewell" and others.
