How to make up a story about hobbies or what we like to do

Hello, dear student! We will learn how to make up a story about our interests. This topic is one of the most important topics which develops our everyday speech, gives your interlocutor an opportunity to understand you, get to know about you a little bit more and make a conclusion about you as a person.

Let's look at two examples about a woman and a man:

Я родилась в далёком горном крае - Таджикистане. Климат у нас очень теплый, но бывают места, где зимы очень похожи на российские. Я живу в теплом регионе, поэтому я увлекаюсь конным спортом. Мне нравятся животные, поэтому я провожу много времени с ними. Ещё я интересуюсь выпечкой и с соседками мы всё время устраиваем соревнования. Мы готовим много еды. Затем раздаём её соседям, и они должны оценить наш труд. По вечерам мне нравится петь традиционные народные песни, я в восторге от песни о тюльпанах. Мне кажется, что я очень хорошо пою, поэтому хочу поступить в институт искусств.

I was born in a remote mountain region - Tajikistan. The climate here is very warm, but there are places where winter is very similar to Russian. I live in a warm region, so I am fond of horse riding. I am interested in animals, so I spend a lot of time with them. Still I am keen on baking and we always have competitions with my neighbors. We cook a lot of food. Then we distribute it to the neighbors, and they should appreciate our work. In the evenings I like singing traditional folk songs, I love the song about tulips. I think, I am a very good singer, so I want to go to the Art Institute.

Я родом с Англии, а англичане больше всего любят спорт. Мне нравится футбол, и я стараюсь играть в него каждый день после учёбы. Традиционным занятием моей семьи является чаепитие - мама заваривает чёрный чай и читает нам интересные старинные рассказы. Эта привычка у меня с детства, поэтому я увлекаюсь чтением книг. Еще я очень рад, когда могу выйти погулять с моими друзьями. По выходным я хожу на плавание и борьбу. Я являюсь фанатом рок- группы и иногда играю на гитаре. В будущем я хочу стать мировой звездой и покорять сердца разных людей по всему миру. Может быть, я приеду жить в Россию.

I come from England, and the English love sport most of all. I like football and I try to play it every day after school. The traditional occupation of my family is tea drinking - mother brews the black tea and reads us interesting old stories. I have this habit from my childhood, so I am fond of reading books. Also, I am happy when I can go out with my friends. On weekends I go swimming and wrestling. I'm a fan of rock band and sometimes I play the guitar. In the future I want to become a world star and win the hearts of different people around the world. Maybe I'll come to live in Russia.
