On August 14, 1923 Eduard Kandel was born. He was one of the leading Soviet neurosurgeons, a neurosurgical office manager of neurology research institute of USSR Academy of medical sciences. Kandel was a Doctor of Medical Sciences, a winner of the USSR State Award, an author of more than 350 scientific works, 6 monographs, 14 inventions and 5 patents.
