Это российский художник-панорамист, академик и руководитель батальной мастерской Академии художеств, создатель трёх батальных панорам: «Оборона Севастополя», «Бородинская битва», «Штурм аула Ахульго». Франц Рубо был основоположником отечественной школы панорамной живописи, автором около двухсот монументальных полотен.

This is a Russian artist-panoramist, an academician and a head of battle masterful Academy of Arts, a creator of three battle panoramas: "Defense of Sevastopol", "The Borodino fight", "Storm of the aul of Akhulgo". Franz Rubo was a founder of domestic school of panoramic painting, author of about two hundred monumental pictures.
