19 января Православной Церковью празднуется Крещение Господне. Это один из самых древних праздников христианской Церкви. Древнее название праздника — «Епифания». Накануне праздника верующие люди соблюдают строгий пост, а в храмах освящается вода. Когда человек омывается освещенной водой в этот день, это означает, что душа человека освобождается от грехов.

On January 19 the Orthodox Church celebrates the Baptism of the Lord. It is one of the most ancient holidays of Christian Church. The ancient name of a holiday is "Epiphanius". On the eve of holiday the believers follow a strict fast, and in temples water is consecrated. When the person is washed by the consecrated water this day, it means that the soul of the person is exempted from sins.

Шолоицкуинтли занесены в Книгу рекордов Гиннеса как самая древняя порода собак и как млекопитающие с самой высокой температурой тела на Земле.

Sholoitskuintli also known as Mexican hairless dog is the most ancient breed of dog in the world. The homeland of these dogs is Mexico. On their homeland they are national property. In ancient times dogs of this breed played an important role in religion and cult ceremonies. These dogs seldom cause an allergy. They have no smell and fleas. Sholoitskuintli are included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most ancient breed of dog and as mammals with the most high body temperature on Earth.

На сегодняшний день, слон является самым большим животным. Масса слона достигает 5 тонн. Однако история знает слона, вес которого достигал 11 тонн. Самым маленьким видом слонов является азиатский. Слоны живут семьями. Беременность самки слона длится 22 месяца и это самая длительная беременность среди всех животных. Вес новорожденного слоненка составляет около 120 килограммов. У слонов самый большой мозг среди наземных животных, поэтому они легко поддаются дрессировке.

Today, elephant is the biggest animal. The mass of an elephant reaches 5 tons. However the history knows an elephant which weight reached 11 tons. The smallest species of elephants are Asian elephants. Elephants live in families. Pregnancy of a female elephant lasts 22 months and it is the longest pregnancy among all animals. The weight of a newborn elephant makes about 120 kilograms. Elephants have the biggest brain among land animals therefore it`s easy to train them.

Serov was on friendly terms with the artist Repin. Serov was not only a painter, but also gave private lessons of drawing and painting. Serov's works are very popular in the world.

Крещенский вечер - это религиозный праздник славян, который празднуется вечером января. Это день строгого поста, а также последний день колядований и святочных гаданий. Под Крещение люди собирают снег, который, как считается, обладает особыми целебными свойствами и сохраняет свежей воду в колодцах в течение года. Вода во всём мире в эту ночь считается святой, даже из-под крана, поэтому в эту ночь рекомендуют принимать душ.

Epiphany evening is a religious holiday of the Slavs which is celebrated in the evening of 18 january. This is a day of a strict fast, and also the last day of carol-singing and Christmas fortune-telling. On the Epiphany eve people collect snow which is considered to have special healing properties and keeps water in wells fresh within a year. Water all around the world is considered to be holy in this night, so it is recommended to take a shower this night.
